53 Years of Designing the Everyday

When we think of cities, we often remember iconic towers and monumental buildings that become symbols of urban growth. Yet, the true experience of a city is shaped not by its icons, but by the places people use every day – the homes they return to, the schools where children learn, the workplaces where ideas take shape, the hospitals that care for communities, and the public spaces that bring people together.

For over five decades, VK Group has contributed to shaping these everyday environments. As the organisation marks its 53rd year, it also marks a journey that mirrors the transformation of India’s built environment from a rapidly urbanising nation to one increasingly focused on sustainability, resilience, and quality of life.

With more than 2,500 projects designed across sectors and geographies, including 700+ projects in Maharashtra alone, VK Group has established a presence across multiple cities with offices in Mumbai, Sindhudurg, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Dubai (UAE), with headquarters in Pune. The firm’s portfolio spans healthcare, education, housing, commercial developments, industrial facilities, institutional infrastructure, integrated townships and urban development projects.

A defining aspect of this journey has been the organisation’s longstanding engagement with government and public-sector institutions. Having collaborated extensively with agencies including PMC, PCMC, PMRDA and MHADA, the Group has contributed to projects that directly influence urban growth and public welfare. Among its recent ones are Sindhudurg Hospital and Medical College, Hon. Balasaheb Thackeray Haridra Research and Training Centre in Hingoli, Income Tax Office at Nariman Point, the 200-acre Maan-Mahalunge Township near Hinjewadi, and Sahakar Sankul in Pune.

The increasing scale and complexity of such developments have reinforced the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration. Through specialised verticals including VK:a architecture, VK:e environmental, VK:i interiors, VK:o operations and VK:u urban, the organisation integrates design, sustainability, planning and technical expertise to address the challenges of contemporary development.

This collaborative approach is further strengthened through international partnerships with globally respected practices including AEDAS (Singapore and Hong Kong), The Richards Partnership (Wales), Hopkins Architects (London) and OpenArch Ltd (Bristol). These associations bring global perspectives, technical expertise and international best practices to projects while remaining responsive to local contexts and aspirations.

Over the years many accolades have been bestowed upon the Directors and the organisation. Just recently the Group’s contribution to the built environment was acknowledged through a Jury Recognition as Best Architectural Firm of the Year at the Economic Times Maharashtra Business Awards 2026

As VK Group enters its 54th year, we look forward to partnering with clients, government bodies, consultants, academic institutions, and talented professionals who are passionate about creating lasting impact through the built environment.
